Buttermilk Syrup

Jen got this recipe from a friend named Lana. 

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 TBS. corn syrup
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. baking soda

Directions

  1. Add first four ingredients to large saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil; stir for 2 minutes, boiling.
  3. Take off heat.
  4. Add vanilla and baking soda.
  5. Stir down (it will foam up).
  6. Let set for a few minutes before serving.
  7. Will keep in airtight container in refrigerator up to 2 weeks.
